Pizza and Baking Stones

That Do Not Crack or Thermal Shock

Our Pizza and Baking Stones are made from a Non-Toxic Mullite mixture, containing a very high quantity of grog. Grog is clay that has been fired to 2500 - 2600 degrees then crushed and put back into our clay mixture. This makes our Baking Stones virtually indestructible and impervious to thermal shock.


We took one of our Pizza Stones saturated it with water and put it in a preheated kiln at 600 degrees.


Then when the Pizza Stone dried out and got to 700 degrees we pulled it out and put it in a bowl of water, see the steam.


We then let the stone stay in the water until the kiln got to 1200 degrees and we put it back in. The kiln then fired to 2000 degrees.

No Cracks !!!
